Nico Lange directs IRIS, an institute for risk analysis and international security he founded after running policy planning at Germany's Federal Ministry of Defence.

Nico Lange spent 2019 to 2022 running the policy planning staff at Germany's Federal Ministry of Defence. Before that, he led the Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung's offices in Kyiv and Washington, D.C. and served seven years as an active-duty Bundeswehr soldier. He now directs IRIS, an institute he founded for risk analysis and international security.

Lange is a Senior Fellow at the Center for European Policy Analysis in Washington and a Senior Advisor at Rasmussen Global, giving him a front-row seat on transatlantic defense policy. Few voices bring closer proximity to how European security decisions actually get made.
